GETTING HERE

Melimoyu Lodge is located in the Aysén Region of Southern Chile and the Northern part of Chilean Patagonia. Our specific location, while remote, is accessible through our four carefully planned routes.

This route includes a combination of air and land transportation.

01 – You’ll take a small plane from the Marcel Marchant Airport (SCPF) in Puerto Montt, Los Lagos, Chile, to the Nuevo Chaitén Airdrome (SCTN). Flight time: approximately 40 minutes.

02 – At the airdrome, you’ll be met by a member of the Melimoyu team. From there, you will travel by road along Route 7 (the Carretera Austral) south towards La Junta. Drive time: approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes.

03 – Before reaching La Junta, you will turn right and travel west along Route X-12 towards Puerto Raúl Marín Balmaceda. In about 24 miles (38 km) along this route, you’ll reach Melimoyu Lodge. Drive time: approximately 40 minutes.

This route includes one border crossing and land transportation.

01 – Flying into the Brigadier General Antonio Parodi International Airport (EQS) in Esquel, Argentina, you will be met by a member of the Melimoyu team.

02 – From there, you will travel by road along Route 259 to the Paso Río Futaleufú border crossing. You will then continue along this road — now Route 231 — until it intersects with Route 235. You’ll then turn right on Route 235 and travel towards Route 7 (the Carretera Austral). Drive time: approximately 2 hours, 40 minutes.

03 – At Route 7, you will turn left and travel south towards the town of La Junta. Drive time: approximately 50 minutes.
